 Ride Along Program:

Ride Along Program The Boston MedFlight Ride Along Program was designed to introduce medical personnel to the critical care transport specialty. This program includes the review of criteria and indications for critical care transport, safety around the aircraft including the helicopter, procedures for activating Boston MedFlight, and the review of the scope of practice of the transport team.

The first priority of our Ride Along Program is to accommodate prospective employees, employees in training and team members who accompany the medical crew on specialty missions. As part of our commitment to education, we also provide this opportunity for physicians during their residency and fellowship years, physicians and nurses in our service area, fire fighters, police officers, EMT's, paramedics, and first responders.

Ride Along Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be employed by an EMS agency or hospital in the BMF service area and in good standing with their employer for at least one year
  • Weigh less than 180 lbs while fully clothed
  • Not have participated as a ride along at any time within the past 36 months
  • Not suffer from motion sickness

If interested, submit a written request to:
