Boston MedFlight personnel are dedicated to providing expert, efficient and consistent service. They are a skilled, experienced, high performance team. Our medical team pair critical care transport nurses and paramedics. Online medical control is available 24 hours a day.
Helicopter Pilot in Command 
Pilot
  • ATP rating - highest level of competency available.
  • Have an average of 9000 rotor wing hours
  • Employees of Era Med (formerly Keystone Helicopter Corporation) Helicopter Corporation
  • All maintain proficiency in single pilot IFR operations
  • Average of 20 years aviation experience
 
Fixed Wing Pilot in Command
  • ATP rating - highest level of competency available
  • Employees of Eastern Air Charter
  • All maintain proficiency in IFR operations
  • Certified to operate in Cheyenne and Citation aircraft

Critical Care Transport Nurses
Critical Care Transport Nurses
  • Massachusetts Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician in the state of Massachusetts
  • Minimum of 5 years of Emergency department and ICU experience preferred
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing
  • NRP, PALS, ACLS, BCLS, CEN, and CCRN certifications
 
Paramedics/Critical Care Transport Specialists
Paramedics/Critical Care Transport Specialist
  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic in the state of Massachusetts
  • Minimum of 5 years EMS experience preferred
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • NRP, PALS, ACLS, BCLS certifications
  • Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) course completion within 1 year of employment

  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician in the state of Massachusetts
  • Certified Medical Aviation Communication Technician
  • Basic computer entry skills
  • Previous communications dispatching experience preferred
 
Mechanics
Mechanics
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
  • Rotor wing mechanics are employees of Era Med (formerly Keystone Helicopter Corporation)
  • Fixed wing mechanics are employees of Eastern Air Charter

Specialty Teams
Boston MedFlight, in conjunction with our consortium hospitals, makes every effort to accommodate the transport of patients requiring specialized care. Some of these transports include:
  • Intraaortic Balloon Pump transports - accompanied by Boston MedFlight medical crew capable of IABP operation
  • Neonatal transports - BMF medical crew frequently accompanied by consortium hospital neonatal personnel
  • Left Ventricular Assist Device transports
 
EMT Drivers
EMT Driver
  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician in the state of Massachusetts
  • Safe driving record
  • CPR/AED certification
 
Equipment Retrieval
As a courtesy to pre-hospital providers, Boston MedFlight makes every effort to retrieve, clean, and arrange the return of pre-hospital equipment belonging to the agencies that have utilized Boston MedFlight from the consortium hospitals. Requirements include:
Equipment Retrieval
  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician in the state of Massachusetts
  • Licensed Massachusetts driver in good standing
  • Working knowledge of pre-hospital equipment, safety standards, and universal precautions
